The World Bank

I have done two projects for the World Bank so far. Their details are below.

The Road Management Catalog

The TRISP*-DFID/World Bank Partnership sponsored this project. *TRISP (Transport and Rural Infrastructure Services Partnership).

They needed a website that would allow companies to sign up for accounts and enter their company and product information, as well as upload brochures and other pertinent files to their company listings. This information could then be browsed or searched by site users (who wouldn't have to sign up for accounts) in order to help World Bank clients and other interested parties obtain information on technologies for managing road networks.

I met all of the requirements, and in particular provided services such as graphic design and layout, database and website design and programming, as well as the implementation of a robust site search engine that could index web pages, text files, Word, WordPerfect, RTF, PDF, PowerPoint, Excel and Flash files. The result was an easy to use site and a happy client.

This site can be accessed by clicking here.

Online Document Management for The WB East Region

The East Asia Region employees of the World Bank involved in transportation projects needed a way to share files collaboratively without adding to an already increased level of email traffic. Emailing documents back and forth among multiple offices with every change simply wasn't a productive and efficient way to conduct business. They were interested in using an online repository where they could post documents by project, and allow employees in various offices to download and upload documents as needed. That way, everyone would only get the files they needed, when they need them.

I helped them install, set up and start using the Document Depot from WebAsyst. Now everyone is very happy with the way things are working.

The entire document management website is accessible only by logon, so I cannot provide you with the URL to see the system in action. But I can tell you that it works as WebAsyst advertises on their site.
